Bird Acquires Circ, Raises $75M More

Santa Monica-based on-demand scooter company Bird has raised $75M more, and acquired a Berlin-based Circ, which operates its own scooter business in Europe. According to Bird, the additional funding was an extension to its Series D funding round, bringing that round total to $350M, with funding from Target Global, Team Europe, Idinvest Partners, and Signals VC. According to Bird, the acquisition of Circ will add more than 300 employees to its European operation. Bird says that Circ has operations in 43 cities in 12 countries. Bird is led by foudner and CEO Travis VanderZanden.
