Bird Rolls Out Toy Scooter, The Birdie

Just in time for the holidays, Santa Monica-based Bird has rolled out a brand new, non-electric powered scooter for the kids--the Birdie. According to Bird, the non-electric scooter, specifically designed for kids, will be available for a limited time through the holiday season, for $129. Bird said the new scooter was "in response to demand" for something for the kids, and was actually designed by Bird's vehicle designers. Bird's foudner and CEO, Travis VanderZanden, said the company actually was founded after his children were given bicycles as a holiday gift, but actually preferred to ride their scooters. Bird said only a "limited amount" of the black, white, and "rose" colored scooters will be available.
