Bonfire Ventures Leads Funding In Enterprise Drone Startup Kittyhawk

Los Angeles-based venture capital investment firm Bonfire Ventures is the lead investor in a San Francisco-based enterprise drone startup, Kittyhawk, Kittyhawk announced this week. Kittyhawk said that it raised $5M in a funding round, led by Bonfire's Jim Andelman, and also included Boeing HorizonX Ventures, Freestyle Ventures, and The Flying Object. The startup--which says it has now raised $6.5M--says it is developing a single platform where enterprises can manage the complexity of operators, aircraft, airspace, data analytics, insights and compliance to maximize safety and ROI. Bonfire Ventures makes seed-stage venture investments, and is led by longtime venture veterans Jim Andelman and Mark Mullen; the company's focus is on B2B software businesses.
