ComplYant Connects With $5.5M For Tax Assistance

Los Angeles-based ComplYant, a startup developing digital tax assistants for small businesses, said on Tuesday that it has raised $5.5M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by Craft Ventures, and also included Mucker Capital, Slauson & Co., and Techstars. The company said it looking to help small businesses avoid what it says are billions in tax penalties they are paying because they are forgetting to fill out forms or making payments late.
