Cornerstone's DisasterReady.org Aims To Help In Syrian Crisis

DisasterReady.org, the online learning site created by Santa Monica-based Cornerstone OnDemand and its nonprofit arm, the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, is pitching in to help address what the Cornerstone calls "one of the worst humanitarian crises in recent time". According to the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, its DisasterReady.org effort has partnered with the Mercy Corps and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to design and implement free, online learning resources and courses--in both English and Arabic--specifically there to help strengthen the knowledge of the many humanitarian volunteers and field staff who are working to respond to the crisis in Syria. Cornerstone said its services have already been used to provide online learning to more than 13,000 aid workers. Syria is facing a major crisis due to civil war in the country between supporters and opponents of the government of President Bashar al-Assad. Fighting in Syria has been particularly intense this week in Ghouta, a suburb of Damascus. According to Cornerstone, more than half of Syria's population has been killed or forced to fleet their homes as a result of the conflict.
