EdgeCast Integrates Google PageSpeed Into Services
Customers of Los Angeles-based content delivery network provider EdgeCast are set to automatically have their content delivered faster today, after EdgeCast announced it had integrated Google PageSpeed, Google's page optimization algorithms, directly into its service. EdgeCast said it worked with Google for more than a year to allow customers to automatically apply "best practice" optimization of their web pages on-the-fly. The firm said the moves would significantly speed up rendering time of their websites to customers. Google PageSpeed is a project offered by Google which helps website owners identify things they could do to speed up their websites on computers, such as optimizing the size of images for users, adding specific tags to pages, and more. EdgeCast says it is the first content delivery network to apply the technology across its network.
