HipDot Studios Finds $2.5M For Influencer Beauty Brands

Los Angeles-based HipDot Studios, a new startup which is enabling influencers to create their own beauty brands, has raised $2.5M in a funding round and launched its platform, according to the company. The startup--founded by Jeff Sellinger, Sam Lim and Mo Winter--said the $2.5M in funding came from Founders Fund, Foundation Capital, and Ludlow Ventures. HipDot Studios said it helps influencers to create their very own beauty lines, by providing the infrastructure to create, manufacture, and distribute beauty products worldwide. The very first brand to roll out from HipDot Studios is based on SpongeBob Squarepants, which it is rolling out with Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products. Financial details of the deal between HipDot Studios and Nichelodeon were not announced. According to HipDot Studios, its founders previously worked at Disney, plus beauty brands like Pat McGrath and Milk, and one of the founders founded Shopkick.
