Hoopo Raises $1.5M For IoT Tracking

Hoopo, a startup developing low power, Internet-of-Things (IoT) tracking technology, which has its U.S. offices in Santa Monica and headquarters in Ra'anana, Israel, has raised $1.5M in a funding round. The funding came from Israeli investor Zohar Gilon and Ben Marcus, the CEO of Santa Monica-based AirMap. The company's investors also include Dr. Eli Fogel, former CTO at Intel. According to Hoopo, it is developing technology which provides a battery life of up to 10 years in the field and improved precision for IoT tracking, using low-power wide area networks.
