j2 Global Buys Two New Companies In Q2

Los Angeles-based Internet information and services company j2 Global--one of Southern California's largest yet most unknown technology companies--said this morning that it has acquired two more companies. j2 Global, which owns such brands as IGN, Mashable, PCMag, Everyday Health in the online publishing space as well as eFax, eVoice, and Livedrive in the cloud services space, said it has acquired Idea First Technologies and Highwinds Capital and Cloak Holdings. Financial details of those acquisition were not announced. j2 Global said it acquired only certain assets of Idea First Technologies, and said it acquired Highwinds Capital and Cloak Holdings from Stackpath, LLC. The company said the deal will help grow its global customer base and provide it with access to new markets. j2 Global is one of the most active acquirers of companies in Southern California, and every quarter acquires some number of companies to add to its portfolio of services, usually merging those companies into its existing businesses.
