San Diego-based Chumby Industries, which makes a Linux-based, Internet information gadget, has signed on Internet calling firm JAJAH as a provider of a new phone widget for the device. According to JAJAH, it has added its Internet telephony technology into Chumby's device, allowing people to place local or global phone calls through the device. The firms said that the JAJAH widget is available now, but requires that Chumby users first create a JAJAH account. Chumby is venture backed by JK&B Capital, Avalon Ventures, Masthead Venture Partners, and O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures.
