KitSplit Adds Camera Rental Insurance To Camera Rental Marketplace

Los Angeles-based KitSplit, which operates a camera, lens, and related peer-to-peer rental marketplace, has added a new online insurance program for gear rentals, the company said over the weekend. KitSplit said the new insurance options comes as a result of a link with the Heffernan Insurance Group's InsureMyEquipment.com, and will be called KitSplit Instant Insurance. KitSplit focuses on very high end equipment used by filmmakers, and offers up access to equipment in New York, Los Angeles, and elsewhere. KitSplit said its program will launch in June, and for its standar coverage of gear over $10,000 in value the premiums start at $125 for short term insurance.
