Lime Ups Ante In Scooter Race Against Bird, Raises $350M From Uber, Others

In a move which is bound to further heat up the race between Santa Monica's Bird scooter rental service and San Francisco competitor Lime, Lime said today that it has raised $350M--and also inked a co-branding deal which will offer up Lime's scooters and bicycles from within the Uber app. Lime said ther ound was led by GV and Uber, and also included Alphabet, IVP, Atomico and Fidelity Management and Research Company plus Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, Fifth Wall and GIC, Singapore Sovereign Wealth Fund. According to Lime, Joe Kraus of GV will join the company's board with the funding. The funding goes head to head against the recent, $300M funding announced last week by Bird, which is now valued at over $3 billion. Bird's backers are Accel, B Capital, CRV, Sound Ventures, Greycroft and e.ventures.
