Munchery Abandons LA, Seattle, New York

Munchery, a provider of same-day delivery of pre-made meals aimed at those seeking fresh, healthy food, has shut down its operations in Los Angeles, as well as Seattle and New York. The company--based in San Francisco--said it will focus on growing its business solely in San Francisco. Munchery apparently had withdrawn its business already in San Diego, where it had launched in 2016; it had been running in Los Angeles since 2012. Munchery said the withdrawal from its markets will have an "impact" on its teams in all of those locations, but did not say how many people are losing jobs in Los Angeles and those other markets.
