Amount of the funding was not announced. The CDN provider said the funding came from Chelsea Management, Inc. NetDNA said that it will use the new funding to grow its edge network and for product expansion, as well as for expanding its technical team. NetDNA is headed by Ben R. Neumann.

Miramar Ventures Gets Exit At AzuroCorona Del Mar-based Miramar Venture Partners has scored an exit in its portfolio, with semiconductor design firm Azuro. According to EDA software firm Cadence Tuesday, it has acquired Azuro to improve its systems-on-a-chip design software. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Miramar's investment in Azuro was managed by Heiner Sussner. Azuro was also backed by Balderton Capital, TTP Ventures, and The Cambridge Angels.

PointHub Takes On Travel RewardsA new, Santa Monica-based startup, PointHub, is getting set to launch a service to help travelers decipher travel rewards and points programs. The service is aimed at helping travelers figure out if it's better to use their points or pay cash for travel. The startup--headed by Justin Byers--has created a "Cash vs. Points Recommendation Engine" which compares pricing factors, redemption fees, loyalty program restrictions, and more to help travelers figure out how to book their flights and travel. AT&T Using Carmageddon To Boost Smartphone UseLos Angeles residents and visitors facing "Carmageddon"--the weekend long shutdown of the 405 freeway between the 10 and the 101--not only have to look forward to grinding traffic and near-impossible ability to get between the Valley and the Westside, but might also be bombarded with text messages pointing them at navigation apps. GoTV Networks Acquired By PhunwareSherman Oaks-based GoTV Networks, the provider of mobile applications and content, has been acquired by a Texas mobile software developer, Phunware. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to Phunware, the acquisition will add offices in San Francisco, Sherman Oaks, and San Diego. Phunware is a developer of mobile applications for major brands and publishers. GoTV Networks was represented by Siemer & Associates in the deal. AddToAny, Started In San Diego, Acquired By LockerzAddToAny, which develops social sharing widgets for the Wordpress and Drupal blog software packages, has been acquired by social sharing and marketing firm Lockerz. Lockerz announced the deal Tuesday, but did not disclose financial terms. AddToAny was the brainchild of Pat Diven, II, who founded the firm when he was a student at the University of California San Diego. Qualcomm Names CTOSan Diego-based Qualcomm has named a new CTO today, saying that it has appointed Matt Grob as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Grob has been at Qualcomm since 1991, and was previously leading corporate R&D and managing Qualcomm Corporate Engineering Services, which he will continue to do. Grob replaces Robert Padovani, who the firm says will remain as Executive Vice President.

Novatel Wireless Gets Smart Grid CustomerSan Diego-based Novatel Wireless, the developer of wireless modems and modules, said Monday afternoon that its 3G embedded modules will be used in a smart energy grid deployment. MaxLinear Wins Chinese FirmCarlsbad-based MaxLinear, the developer of radio frequency and mixed signal semiconductors, said Monday that it has scored a win with a Chinese set-top box maker. MaxLinear said that Shenzhen Skyworth Digital Technology Co.Ltd. is using its digital-to-analog converters. Shipment volumes and financial impact of the win were not announced.
