Qualified.com, With LA Exec, Gets $12M
Qualified, a startup developing conversational marketing software for companies that use Salesforce, said on Tuesday that it has raised $12M in its Series A funding. The company--whose President and Chief Revenue Officer, Eric Sikola is located in Los Angeles--said the funding was led by Norwest Venture Partners, and also included Redpoint Ventures and Salesforce Ventures. Syntiant Finds $35M More For AI Chips
Irvine-based Syntiant, a developer of processors used for artificial intelligence applications, has raised $35M more in the company's Series C funding round. The round was led M12, the venture capital investment arm of Microsoft, and Applied Ventures, the venture arm of Applied Materials, and also included Atlantic Bridge Capital, Alpha Edison and Miramar Digital Ventures. Virgin Galactic Ties With Rolls Royce On Supersonic Aircraft
Virgin Galactic, the commercial spaceflight operator with operations in Mojave, said on Monday that it has partnered with Rolls-Royce on an effort to build an aircraft for supersonic air travel. Financial details of the deal were not announced. According to Virgin Galactic, it has completed a missio concept review with NASA of a supersonic vehicle design, and is working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on how it might certify its aircraft for flight. Emburse Rolls out New Corporate Payment Card
Los Angeles-based expense management and accounts payable automation software developer Emburse--the parent company of Chrome River--said it has launched a new, corporate payment card, which lets its customers pre-approve expenses. Irvine-based CalAmp, a developer of fleet tracking and other electronic devices, said yetserday that it has named Amal M. Johnson as Chair of its Board of Diretors.
