Qmerit Links With BTR Energy On EV Charging, Renewable Power

Irvine-based electric vehicle (EV) charging services provider Qmerit and low-carbon credit platform provider BTR Energy said this week that the two are in a partnership. According to the two, the partnership will enable Qmerit's commercial clients to monetize Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) credits issued by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Qmerit helps commercial property owners install and implement EV charging infrastructure; BTR tracks emissions and energy usage, and related information and helps companies with gaining revenue from the LCFS credits. The two said that when an electric vehicle is charged at a station installed by Qmerit, BTR's platform will match the energy usage to energy generated from local renewable sources, which provides credits back to Qmerit customers and local energy suppliers.
