Report: WD Hackers Seeking Massive Ransom, Backend Systems Compromised

New reports this morning say that hackers who took over a number of computer systems at Western Digital are demanding "minimum 8 figures" in ransom in order to not publish stolen data from the company. The hack--appears to have not just affected the company's "WD My Cloud" service, but the company's internal systems, including their email, code-signing certificate, internal files, and WD's SAP systems. Western Digital has significant operations in Irvine.
