Slingshot Aerospace Acquires Two Companies

Los Angeles- and Austin-based Slingshot Aerospace, which develops space simulation and tracking software, said this morning that it has acquired two companies---the Space Division of Numerica and Seradata. Financial details of the buy were not announced. The company said the acquisition include Numerica Corporation's Space Domain Awareness (SDA) division which operates the only commercial low Earth orbit (LEO) to geosynchronous orbit (GEO) daytime and nighttime optical sensor network for satellite tracking. Slingshot Aerospace said the acquisitio of Seradata will bring that company's SpaceTrak satellite and launch database into its portfolio, and also establish a footprint in the UK/European market.
