Tear Film Innovations Finds $8.5M

San Diego-based Tear Film Innovations, a developer of medical devices to help clear blocked tear glands, has raised $8.5M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Visionary Ventures Fund and Bluestem Capital. Tear Film Innovations is led by CEO Rob Thornhill. The company's system--which received 510k clearance in December--provides therapy to treat blocked meibomiam glands, the cause of "dry eye". More information »
