Tinder Secures Swipes After Security Flap

Los Angeles-based dating app developer Tinder has addressed the security issues uncovered in a security researchers report in January, including fully encrypting images transmitted between its servers and fixing data transfers which would have let hackers determine if users were swiping "left" or "right" on photos, according to a letter to Senator Ron Wyden last week released by the company. Match Group, the parent company of Tinder, was responding to the Senator's inquiries about the company's security practices. Match Group told Senator Wyden that it fixed the image encryption on February 6th, and fixed the data padding in its API on June 19th.
