TS Conductor Raises $25M

San Clemente-based TS Conductor Corp., which develops high efficiency conductors for the electricity grid, has raised $25M in a funding round. The funding came from Breakthrough Energy Ventures, National Grid Partners and a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, along with Talkot and Hervé Touati. According to the company, the funding will go to build a manufacturing plant in the United States. TS Conductor Corp. is led by CEO Dr. Jason Huang. TS Conductor says it has developed a conductor which is a unique combination of carbon composite and aluminum encapsulation of the composite core, which are more efficient but compatible with existing Aluminum Core Steel Reinforced (ACSR) cables used for electricity transmission and distribution.
