Verdezyne Sells Technology To DuPont
Carlsbad-based Verdezyne, the developer of industrial biotechnology and renewable chemicals, said today that it has sold its proprietary xylose isomerase technology to DuPont Industrial Biosciences. Verdezyne did not disclose financial details of the technology sale. Verdezyne said DuPont has purchased rights to its patented xylose isomerase technology, for us in the biofuels and biochemical fields. The technology is used for converting sugar to fuels and chemicals. Verdezyne is venture backed by BP Alternative Energy Ventures, DSM Venturing B.V., OVP Venture Partners and Monitor Ventures.
