Viasat Gets Win With SES

Carlsbad-based satellite communications technology and services provider Viasat reported a win with European satellite network operator SES Networks, saying Thursday that SES has selected a solid state, electronic phased array flat panel antenna designed by the company for its own satellite network. According to Viasat, its falt panel antenna will be used for customer edge terminals on SES Networks' O3b mPower satellite communications (satcom) system. Financial impact of the design win was not announced. Viasat said its flat panel antenna was developed in part by a partnership between the company and the European Space Agency (ESA).
