Campus Explorer Raises Series A
Santa Monica-based Campus Explorer has raised a Series A venture round from Rincon Venture Partners and O'Connor Ventures, along with the founders and investors in Rent.com, the firm has confirmed with socalTECH. socalTECH first reported the funding in July. Campus Explorer provides an online web site focused on helping students find schools. O'Connor Ventures is the investment arm of Doubleclick's founder and former CEO, Kevin O'Connor, who now also sits on Campus Explorer's board of directors. The company did not provide details of the amount of funding in the round to socalTECH, but did disclose that Jim Andelman of Rincon Venture Partners has also joined the firm's board of directors. Jerry Slavonia, who was formerly a VP at Rent.com, is CEO of Campus Explorer.
