    Clearmesh Shuts Down

Pasadena-based Clearmesh Networks, a firm that was developing wireless optical broadband equipment, has shut down. According to sources close to the company, the firm shut down this month after Idealab, the firm's backer, decided to cut off funding for the company. The company, which was formerly known as Omnilux, was relaunched in June of 2006, but failed to find outside backers outside of Idealab. The firm's products were targeted at connecting companies with high speed, fiber-grade capacity connections without requiring additional fiber connections. Employees of the firm were made aware of the shutdown in early May.
