Confident Technologies Unveils CAPTCHA Tool
San Diego-based Confident Technologies, the new startup which is using image authentication technology originally developed by Vidoop, has rolled out its image-based CAPTCHA tools, the firm said this week. The company--which is headed by Curtis Staker--said its image-based CAPTCHA alternative greatly increases website security and user experience. The firm said the tool is targeted for use by e-commerce sites, blogs, social networking sites, and Web-based email, as well as other web services. The firm's CAPTCHA solution uses easy to identify images, and asks users to select specific pictures, instead of decoding warped text in traditional CAPTCHA implementations.
