    Entropic Communications Buys RF Magic


    San Diego-based Entropic Communications, a venture-backed startup in the semiconductor space, said today it has acquired RF Magic, a San Diego-based developer of radio frequency (RF) systems-on-a-chip. Terms were not disclosed. According to the firms, the two will focus on the connected home entertainment market. According to Entropic, Patrick Henry of Entropic will continue to lead the firm as CEO; Mark Foley, President and CEO of RF Magic, will become President and COO of Entropic when the deal closes. RF Magic has received venture funding from Anthem Ventures, Comcast Interactive Capital, Conexant, EchoStar, Finaventures, Hamilton Technology Ventures, Revolution Ventures, STMicroelectronics, and Waypoint Ventures.
