    Acacia Inks Bloomberg Licensing Deal

Newport Beach-based Acacia Technologies announced today that Bloomberg LP has entered into a license agreement for its Digital Media Transmission (DMT) technology. Acacia has been aggressively pursing colleges and universities, adult web sites, and others after landing a patent it said gives it rights for streaming video over computer networks. The company acquired the rights to the streaming video patents in 2001 from Greenwich Information Technologies, and has since been on a lawsuit spree to get streaming video sites to sign licensing agreements for the technology.
