Slacker Unveils New Site, Simplified Design

Slacker, the online music and Internet radio streaming services based in San Diego, has long suffered from being the Rodney Dangerfield of online music streaming. So, in a bid to better compete against a long list of competitors, the service announced a brand new site design and user interface Wednesday, which simplifies and makes it easier for users to interact with the service.

Slacker now features a graphics-heavy, easy-to-navigate interface which takes users directly to their favorite artists and music. The service is a significant simplification to the service, letting users quickly search for stations featuring their favorite artists; bold, simple buttons to vote tracks up or down; and highlighting of photos within pages. Slacker has a long list of competitors, ranging from Spotify to Rdio, to Pandora, all of which are looking to grab a chunk of the online music streaming market. The makeover is the first major redesign of the site's logo since its launch back in 2007. View Slacker's video about its service in our video section.
