IMC Networks Powers Up Ethernet Converters
Foothill Ranch-based IMC Networks has launched its new line of PSE-McBasic fiber optic media converters. The new products can provide both data and power to devices using twisted pair data cabling, and are targeted at allowing for the installation of remotely powered devices such as Wireless Access Points, VoIP phones, and IP security cameras at the far end of fiber connections. The Power over Ethernet functionality of its converters greatly reduces the complexity and coast of installing devices since both power and data can be provided from a single cable.
