El Segundo-based Internet Brands said this morning that it is being acquired by private equity firm KKR, from its current owners, Hellman & Friedman and JMI Equity. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Internet Brands said that CEO Bob Brisco and the company's existing management team will continue to hold a minority stake in the company, and continue to run the business. Hellman & Friedman and JMI Equity had acquired Internet Brands back in 2010, paying $640M for the company. Internet Brands says it now has approximately 1,600 employees, and is seeing more than 100 million unique visitors per month to its various websites. KKR said its investment came out of its North America XI private equity fund.
