Koders.com Launches Search Engine for Open Source Code

Koders.com has launched a new search engine, targeted at the open source development market. The Santa Monica-based startup said Monday that it has launched a search engine which indexes the thousands of open source development projects and allows developers to search via keyword, language, and open source license. The service is targeted at software developers who are looking to leverage open source software components and need to find specific types of code for incorporation into their projects. Open source developers typically incorporate components into both in-house and commercial products in order to bolster features of their own software development efforts, tapping into the large number of developers who are publishing code and software for use by anyone.
