    Linspire Rolls Custom Linux Initiative

San Diego-based Linspire said today the firm has rolled out a new service which will offer custom, Linux desktop operating systems to its partners. Linspire, which develops several versions of desktop Linux operating systems, said the new service is targeted at cutting the expense of building their own Linux desktop operating systems. The new service will support both the Debian and Ubuntu Linux distributions, and is part of the firm's Linspire Partner Program, which is targeted at white box and system builders. White box builders will frequently install custom configured operating system images for their own customers on their hardware.
