CrownPeak Focuses On Government Compliance
Marina Del Rey-based CrownPeak (www.crownpeak.com) has rolled out a new program targeting state, county, and local government. The company is offeirng a discount on its Advantage CMS product, its Web content management system which allows users to develop web sites without programming. The company said that the discount and an associated bundle are designed to help governments meet the Americans with Disabilities Act in respect to creating web sites for blind and low-vision visitors. Troika Receives Brocade Certification
Westlake Village-based Troika Networks (www.troikanetworks.com) announced this morning that its Accelera Network Storage Services Platform has been verified by storage area networking switch firm Brocade Communications as interoperable. Brocade tested the Troika hardware at its labs, and confirmed that the device is interoperable with Brocade-based SAN environments. H20 Audio Launches Waterproof MP3
---San Diego-based H20 Audio (www.h2oaudio.com) announced that it has partnered with iRiver to launch a fully waterproof MP3 player. The new player, based on iRiver MP3 players, is targeted at watersports enthusiasts and sports such as wakeboarding, surfing, swimming, snowboarding, and waterskiing. H20 develops waterproof housings for audio equipment.

CinemaNow Adds Sony To Lineup
Santa Monica-based CinemaNow has added Sony Pictures Television to its list of entertainment providers. According to CinemaNow, Sony Pictures Television's titles will be available as pay per view and for download via CinemaNow's video on demand web site. Sony's new relesae films will be available at the traditional pay-per-view window on the site, as well as previously released movies. CinemaNow already carries titles from Disney, Fox, Lions Gate, MGM, Miramax, and Warner Bros.

Stamps.com Partners With World Wildlife Fund
Los Angeles-based Stamps.com said today that it has partnered with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to offer a seriers of endangered species PhotoStamps, where a portion of those sales benefiting the conservation organization. The stamps will features images of a giant panda, one-horned rhino, Bengal tiger, lowland gorilla, and an African elephant. Stamps.com's PhotoStamps service allows anyone to upload their own pictures and create custom postage. Postage of different denominations is available. (More info...)

Caltech Gets $6.75M For Computing Facility
Pasadena-based Caltech (www.caltech.edu) announced that the National Science Foundation has awarded the school $6.75M to house a new community-based, software engineering effort for scientific computing in geophysics. The NSF grant will fund an initiative to create a scientific computing capability to study seismology, plate tectonics, volcanism, and geomagnetism. Verari Raises $13.275M For Blade Server Systems
San Diego-based Verari Systems has raised $13.275M for its blade server systems. The Series B funding came from Carlyle Venture Partners, the venture fund managed by private equity giant The Carlyle Group. Existing Verari Systems investors Sierra Ventures, Voyager Capital, and Celerity Partners also participated.
