Conexant Adds ADSL2plus Silicon
Newport Beach-based Conexant said today that it has rolled out a new ADSL2plus chipset. The company's new chip adds integrated voice over internet support and connectivity to UBS 2.0, along with upgradeability to VDSL/VDSL2. The company said that its CX94515 chip delivers up to twice the throughput of existing solutions. Mergere Launches Open Source Services
Marina Del Rey-based Mergere said today that it is officially launching commercial support for the Apache Maven and Continuum open source projects. The new firm, funded by Simula Labs and headed by Gluecode founder Winston Damarillo, will provide subscription-based support, training, and consulting for enteprises implementing the Apache Maven and Continuum open source projects. Jambo Lands $5M
Agoura Hills-based Jambo has raised $5M in venture funding from Kline Hawkes & Co., Westlake Venture Partners, and Gary Leff and Associates. The company, which is developing net-to-phone software for connecting web searchers directly with local businesses via phone, said that the investors had provided in excess of $5M in funding for the firm. MTV Buys IFILM
VIacom's MTV Networks said late Friday that it has acquired Santa Monica-based IFILM, an online provider of videos and video content. MTV will pay $49M for the web site. MTV said that it was expanding the site to expand its position as one of the top entertainment networks on the web, and that it saw significant opportunities for MTV to increase its online advertising revenue.
