Arrowhead Gets Private Placement
Pasadena-based Arrowhead Research, which is publicly listed on the NASDAQ as ARWR, said today that it has received a $19.6M investment from York Capital Management and Knott Partners. The firm said that it sold 5,590,000 shares of restricted common stock to the firms, in order to accelerate its growth in the nanotechnology area. Arrowhead is developing nanotech-related technology that it licenses from education institutions.

Network LIVE Adds VP
Los Angeles-based Network LIVE, the joint venture between America Online, XM Satellite Radio, and AEG, has added a new vice president to its executive team. Michael Goldfine has joined the firm as Vice President of Production and Programming, where he will oversee all production and programming for the firm. Goldfine was most recently a Senior Producer for Extra!, and also co-produced the HBO series Cathouse. Citrix Upgrades GoToMyPC
Santa Barbara-based Citrix Systems has recently upgraded its GoToMyPC, its software tool for sharing a PC over the Internet. The company's upgraded GoToMyPC 5 tool adds faster access to desktop applications, true color support, drag and drop file transfers, multi-monitor support, and performance tuning and monitoring. Citrix is targeting remote access applications for small and medium-sized businesses with the upgraded version of GoToMyPC.

Evolution Robotics Spins Off Retail Products
Pasadena-based Evolution Robotics, a developer of tools and technology for the robotics industry, said today that it is forming a wholly-owned subsidiary to focus on its LaneHawk products for retailers. Evolution Robotics Retail will focus on providing Evolution's object recognition technology to the retail industry.
