Entropic Gets Win At Motorola
San Diego-based Entropic has scored a win at Motorola, saying yesterday that its home media networking chips will be used as part of Motorola's QIP and DCT digital video set-top boxes. The firm said that Motorola will embed its chips to enable multi-room video and content sharing. Entropic is developing home media networking chips targeted at set-top boxes, modems, broadband gateways and routers, and DVRs and digital TVs. Entropic said that Verizon is currently deploying the Motorola QIP boxes (More info...)

Mavent Available Through Fannie Mae
Irvine-based Mavent reports that its compliance software is now available through Fannie Mae's Service Provider Network. The firm, which develops automated compliance solutions for the financial services agency, said that the availability means that mortgage institutions can now submit data from its loans through the Fannie Mae system to Mavent's software. Mavent provides software for compliance with mortgage industry laws and regulations, and is backed by FTVentures.

Realtor.com, Cendant Unit Extend Marketing Deal
Westlake Village-based Realtor.com and NRT, a subsbidiary of Cendant, have extended a marketing deal the two firms have. Realtor.com will continue to provide services to NRT's local operating companies on Realtor.com for two more years. NRT operates the Coldwell Banker, ERA, and Sotheby real estate brokerage brands. the agreement calls for enhancing all of NRT's listings on the Realtor.com site. Realtor.com provides home sales listings on its web site.

Qualcomm Licenses 3G CDMA Technology
Qualcomm announced this morning that it has licensed its 3G CDMA technology to Inventec Appliances Corporation (IAC), a Taiwanese provider of smart handheld devices and Internet appliance solutions. The two companies said that Inventec has licensed Qualcomm's 3G CDMA subscriber unit and modem card technology. IAC will develop, manufacture and sell CDMA2000 and WCDMA subscriber units and modem card products.

Entretec Names Winner
Pasadena-based Entretec has named a winner for its annual awards event this week, naming NextAce as winner of its third annual Entrepreneurship Award. The group awarded NextAce the award in an event Tuesday. Anaheim-based NextAce is a provider of software for the title insurance and mortgage lending industry.
