E3 Expo: New Consoles, Less Booth Babes
E3 Expo continued yesterday at the Los Angeles Convention Center, bringing a massive crush of video game industry, video game fans, and press eager to see the latest that the industry had to offer. Notable announcements so far at the show have been Nintendo's announced of its new Wii console, and Sony showing its next generation PlayStation 3 hardware. MovieTickets.com Adds Spanish Support
Los Angeles-based MovieTickets.com has added a new, Spanish version language of its site, the firm said today. The company, which provides online movie ticketing services, said that it has launched the site to serve the Hispanic market. The firm also said it will integrate Spanish into its affiliate network, and will also support Spanish speaking countries with the site. Evolution Robotics Deploys Technology In Cell Phones
Pasadena-based Evolution Robotics announced today that its visual pattern recognition technology has been deployed in cell phones as a part of a mobile visual search tool from Bandai Networks. The firm said that Bandai is using its ViPR visual pattern recognition technology to power a service that allows cell phone users to take a picture of a photo, and get information on where to purchase the items in the picture. Toshiba Taps Into WildTangent
Irvine-based Toshiba America Information Systems has tapped Redmond, Washington-based WildTangent, a publisher of online games, to launch a new, virtual console game portal for Toshiba's line of Satellite notebook computers. The two companies said yesterday that Toshiba will pre-install the WildTangent's software and five top selling games on selected models of its computers, and will link those to an online web site maintained by WildTangent.
