X Prize Cup Names Title Sponsor
Los Angeles-based X Prize Foundation, which operates the X PRIZE Cup, said today that it has signed on Wirefly.com as the official title sponsor of the renamed Wirefly X Prize Cup. The event, being held later this month, features a $2M award for companies that are developing designs for a next generation lunar lander. LeadPoint Raises $2M
Los Angeles-based LeadPoint has raised $2M in a Series C financing, the firm said this morning. Funding came from the European Founders Fund. LeadPoint said that it will use the funding to drive its growth in the UK and the rest of Europe. LeadPoint is developing an online leads exchange marketplace. LeadPoint has previously received venture capital from Redpoint Ventures.

Procore Technologies Closes Series B
Santa Barbara-based Procore Technologies announced the close of a Series B funding today, saying that it has raised over $2M in the first half of the round. The funding was led by Great Pacific Capital. Procore said that the Series B Preferred financing is expected to close before the end of 2006. Procore develops an online, hosted software-as-a-service tool targeted at construction project management. First Advantage Buys EvidentData
Florida-based First Advantage Corporation announced today that it has acuqired the assets of Rancho Cucamonga-based EvidentData, a provider of computer forensics and electronic discovery. Financial terms were not disclosed. First Advantage said it will use the acquisition to expand the West Coast presence of its litigation support offerings. EvidentData's computer forensics are used in trials as evidence.

BandTel Partners On SIP Bundle
Newport Beach-based BandTel, a provider of SIP trunking services, has partnered with two other firms in the SIP space to offer a bundled SIP product. BandTel, Pingtel, a provider of open source SIP PBX products, and Ingate Systems, which develops SIP-based firewall products, said they have developed a bundled solution for installing SIP trunks. vMix Gets Win At San Diego Station
San Diego-based vMix has scored a win with the new, San Diego CW television network. vMix said today that it has launched a new destination Web player for viewers of the San Diego CW 5 station, where viewers will be able to upload and watch their user videos. The new YOVIO web site will be powered by vMix's social video platform. San Diego CW 5 is part of the Tribune broadcasting group. Youbet.com Buys Broadcast Production Firm
Woodland Hills-based Youbet.com, a provider of online pari-mutuel wagering, said Monday that it has acquired Bruen Productions, a broadcast production company headquartered in Loveland, Colorado. Bruen was purchased for $162,000 plus $174,000 in assumed debt. Youbet.com said that it acquired the firm for its production capabilities, which the firm said would save it over $250,000 per year on production costs. Bruen employs six.
