Celebros Raises $3M
Santa Barbara-based Celebros announced Wednesday that the firm has raised $3M in an investment round. Source of the funding was not disclosed. Celebros is a provider of online search and analytics services for e-commerce shopping web sites. The firm also maintains offices in London, Paris and Munich.

Trius Therapeutics Finds $20M
San Diego-based Trius Therapeutics, a company developing antibacterial drugs for the treatment of serious infections, has raised $20M in a Series A funding. The funding came from Sofinnova Ventures, which led the deal, and also included InterWest Partners, Prism VentureWorks, and Versant Ventures. Trius Therapeutics was formerly known as Rx3 Pharmaceuticals.

Visiogen Raises $24M
Irvine-based Visiogen announced Wednesday morning that it has received $24M in a venture capital round, led by CMEA Ventures. Other investors in the round included Foundation Medical Partners, Three Arch Partners, New Leaf Venture Partners, and Prospect Venture Partners. Visiogen is developing an intraocular lens used for lens replacement. The company last raised a round of funding in 2003.

Vantage Media Raises $70M
Venice, California-based Vantage Media announced this morning that it has raised $70M in a Series A investment, for the firm's search engine marketing and online lead generation business. The round came from Montgomery & Co., Scale Venture Partners, Tudor Ventures, and Integral Capital Partners. Vantage Media provides search marketing for clients, and was founded in 2002. The firm also named Steve Jillings, former CEO of Frontbridge, as CEO; and appointed Rory O'Driscoll of Scale Venture Partner (More info...)

Veoh Ties Into McCain Campaign
San Diego-based Veoh Networks, a provider of online video sharing and entertainment, said Tuesday that it has launched a new video channel in conjunction with Senator John McCain's campaign. Veoh said that it has launched the "Senator John McCain Channel" which will feature video from McCain's campaign trail, tour stops, speeches, and other videos. According to Veoh, McCain's campaign will also use Veoh to syndicate videos to YouTube, Google Video, MySpace, and other video and social networking (More info...)

eEye, BMC Team
Aliso Viejo-based eEye Digital Security, a provider of security and vulnerability management software, said today that it is in a strategic relationship with BMC Software. The firm said it has joined BMC's MarketZone program and integrated its security tools with BMC's Atrium CMDB products. BMC's products are used for managing IT operations. eEye is a provider of security tools for managing enterprise vulnerabilities.

Ixia Upgrades Video Testing Capability
Calabasas-based Ixia, a provider of network testing tools, said today that it has upgraded the firm's IP performance test systems to support HD-video over IP. The firm's IxLoad tool now support MPEG-4, H.264, and VC-1 testing for high definition video over IP. Ixia's IxLoad 3.20 tool provides performance testing for testing triple play networks and devices.

GoToMyPC, Best Buy Team On Consumer Push
Santa Barbara-based Citrix Online, makers of the GoToMyPC remote access tools, and Best Buy, said today that Best Buy has chosen the Citrix GoToMyPC solution for a new product, ConnectedLife.Home. The new product from Best Buy connects home entertainment, lighting, and other digital home entertainment in a networked environment. GoToMyPC is used as part of the system to allow customers to access their connected home system from anywhere on the Internet.

TRENDnet Opens European Office
Torrance-based TRENDnet, a provider of networking equipment, said today that it has opened up a new branch office headquarters in Brugg, Switzerland. The office will provide logistics, technical support, and marketing to its regional partners. TRENDnet is a provider of networking hardware for the small and medium sized business market.

Docufide Taps XML Standard
Los Angeles-based Docufide announced Tuesday that it now has the ability to deliver electronic transcripts in XML, compliant with a Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC) standard. The firm, which provides electronic delivery of high school transcripts to universities, said that the new capability comes on top of the firm's currently delivery of transcripts in PDF. Docufide is backed by the Tech Coast Angels and the Pasadena Angels.

FutureLogic Names CEO and CTO
Glendale-based FutureLogic, a manufacturer of thermal ticket printers, said today that it has named Eric Meyerhofer as CEO and CTO. Meyerhofer previously was the firm's President and CEO. The company also said it has hired Frank Eckary as President of the company.
