LeisureLink Gets $8.1M
Pasadena-based LeisureLink, which operates an online booking service for vacation rental properties, said Tuesday morning that it has closed on $8.1M in a Series B-1 funding round. The venture round came from Clearstone Venture Partners, Group RCI, and Mission Ventures. LeisureLink represents timeshare resorts, vacation rentals, and condo hotels and allows for electronic booking with online travel sites and reservation services. TwitchGuru Becomes Tom's Games
Los Angeles-based TG Publishing, a publisher of online elecronics reviews and information, said today that it is renaming its TwitchGuru online gaming review site to Tom's Games. TG Publishing operates the popular Tom's Hardware electronics reviews site. TG Publishing said that the change in name would align the TwitchGuru site with the firm's Tom's Hardware brand. Userplane Makes Web Recording Software Free, Ad-Supported
Santa Monica-based Userplane, the subsidiary of AOL which provides applicaton software for online communities and web sites, said today that it has upgraded the firm's Webrecorder software and will offer a free, ad-supported version of the tool. Userplane's Webrecorder software is used by websites to enable recording and playback of audio and video messages. Siderean Software Appoints Exec
El Segundo-based Siderean Software said this morning that it has named Reza M. Kazemipour as its Chief Revenue Officer. Kazemipour joins the firm from Fast Search & Transfer, where he was regional Vice President of Sales. Kazemipour has also served at Cerebra, Selectica, and IBM. Siderean Software is a provider of search software for navigating through digital information; the firm is venture backed by Clearstone Venture Partners, InnoCal Venture Capital and Red Rock Ventures.

Sabeus Names Sales VP
Calabasas-based Sabeus, a manufacturer of fiber optic sensors for the oil and gas, defense, and telecommunications industry, said Monday that it has hired Jack Angel as its Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Angel joins the firm from oil and gas firm Baker Hughes Pipeline Management Group. Angel will be based in Houston. ESET Rolls Malware Software For Linux
San Diego-based ESET said today that it has rolled out three new software packages for malware scanning on both Enterprise and SMB Linux environments. The firm said that the new products provide gateway, file, and mail scanning for malware in files; the malware scanning tools include a version which acts as an HTTP gateway; a version for protecting Linux mail servers; and a version which scans file systems. Xirrus Announces Church Deployment
Westlake Village-based Xirrus, a manufacturer of Wi-Fi arrays, said today that it has deployed its product at the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church (JFBC) in Marietta, Georgia. Size or financial terms of the win were not disclosed. Xirrus said the church has deployed its products to support the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, which hosts a remote campus at the 7,500 member church. Xirrus is venture backed by August Capital and US Venture Partners.
