AmberWave Licenses UC Santa Barbara Technology
AmberWave Systems, a New Hampshire-based firm developing advanced technologies for semiconductor manufacturing, said Thursday that it has licensed technology from The University of California, Santa Barbara,. The licensing agreement covers material science research in the field of mesoporous materials, which are being used to develop fuel cells, high-performance batteris, and ultracapacitors. Transpera Hires Execs
Santa Monica-based Transpera, a venture backed firm developing mobile video publishing tools, said earlier this week that it has hired Rob DeMillo as Chief Technology Officer, and Jody Stark as Vice President of Business Development. DeMillo was most recently CTO of ThirdScreenMedia, and has also served at m-Qube; Stark comes from ICTV, and has served at YooMedia PLC, Mixed Signals Technologys, Blast Radius, Initech Consulting, and Viziworkx. Fonality Expands European Channel
Los Angeles-based Fonality, a provider of IP-based PBX systems, said earlier this week that it has expanded its channel in Europe. The firm said that it has signed solution providers in France, Poland, Italy, and the UK to resell and support its trixbox Pro phone system. The providers include CNSI (France), Halo2 (Poland), V4VoIP (UK), VCOMM (UK), VoIPon (UK), and Wildix (Italy).
