Momentum Ventures Funds Brown Bag Naturals
Los Angeles-based Momentum Venture Management said Monday that it has made an investment in Los Angeles-based Brown Bag Naturals. Momentum, which provides both funding and operational expertise to technology and other early stage companies, did not disclose the amount of the investment. Brown Bag Naturals delivers healthy lunches to school chidren in Southern California. Chumby Debuts Smart Internet Device
San Diego-based Chumby Industries has rolled out the firm's consumer, Internet radio and video device, the firm said Monday. The company, which is venture backed by O'Reilly Alphatech Ventures, said the firm's chumby device is now available on the firm's web site. Chumby's device allows users to send Internet radio broadcasts, videos, photos, and other information to what looks like an alarm clock. introNetworks Revs Social Networking Tool
Santa Barbara-based introNetworks said today that the firm has upgraded its social networking tools. CraveOnline Buys GameRevolution
Los Angeles-based CraveOnline.com, which runs an online web site focused on young men, said today that it has acquired GameRevolution.com, a site focused on gaming content. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. CraveOnline is owned by AtomicOnline. CraveOnline said the acquisition will be used to expand its family of niche web properties. DivX Kills Stage6.com
San Diego-based DivX said this morning that it plans to shut down Stage6.com, the firm's online user-generated video sharing service. According to DivX, it will shut down the site at the end of the month, on February 28th. The firm said the move came because the company wanted to focus on its core DivX technology licensing business. quarterlife Hits iTunes
The Los Angeles-based producers behind Internet series 'quarterlife', Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, said Monday morning that the series will be available for purchase and download on Apple's popular iTunes store. According to Herkovitz and Zwick, they will offer episodes of the series for $1.99, and the full season for $9.99 on the iTunes store. Guidance Software Rolls Data Leakage Software
Pasadena-based Guidance Software announced new software targeted at findng policy violations and possible sources of data leakage in government networks. According to Guidance, its EnCase information Assurance tool is targeted at helping federal agencies identify, assess and remediate policy violations and vulnerabilities across the network. The firm said it will provide system audit and compliance checking, and vulnerability and threat assessment as part of an upgrade of its existing tool.

Vitesse Expands Diagnostic Feature
Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor said MOnday morning that it has expanded a diagnostic feature on the firm's line of 10 Gbps devices. According to Vitesse, it has added the firm's VScope oscilloscope features into the firm's VSC824x family of clock and data recovery devices. The new features add the ability to view signals being received by its chips, which are used to improve the quality of optical and electrical signals on high speed, 10 Gbps optical networks.
