William Morris Invests in Mobile Development Firm
Beverly Hills-based talent agency and entertainment giant William Morris Endeavor looks to be busy with investments this week. The firm as backed a mobile application development company, Chaotic Moon Studios, as part of a strategic partnership. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. Chaotic Moon Studios is based in Austin, TExas, and provides mobile development services to companies such as Fox, Pizza Hut, General Mills, Microsoft, Dell, CBS, and Disney. GRP Partners Adds HauteLook's Bettinelli
GRP Partners, the Los Angeles venture capital investment firm, said Tuesday morning that it has added former HauteLook CMO Greg Bettinelli as a Partner at the firm. Bettinelli was Chief Marketing Officer at HauteLook, having taken it form startup to its acquisition by Nordstrom for $270M. Bettinelli also has been involved with startup accelerator MuckerLab.

Western Digital Backs Skyera
Irvine-based disk drive maker Western Digital announced this morning that it has made a strategic investment in Skyera, a developer of enterprise, solid state storage systems. WD said it co-invested in the recent, $51M funding round announced by Skyera in February. That round was led by Dell Ventures, the venture capital arm of Dell Computer. Blizzard Debuts New StarCraft Expansion Title
Irvine-based videogame maker Blizzard Entertainment has launched a new StarCraft expansion title, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. According to Blizzard, the new game can be purchased at retail stores throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Russia, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Blizzard said it will announced plans for mainland China in the future. The title costs $59.99.

TotallyHer Media Snags Glam Media VP
Los Angeles-based TotallyHer, the women's lifestyle publishing arm of Evolve Media, said today that it has hired away a Glam Media veteran as its new Vice President fo Sales. Evolve Media said it has named Rachel Wintner as its new Vice President of Sales, to lead the firm's new sales team. Aliso Viejo-based Avanir Pharmaceuticals, which is developing treatments for central nervous system disorders, said today that it has added Ms. Corinne Nevinny to its board of directors. Nevinny is General Partner at venture capital firm LMNVC LLC. Nevinny also has served at Edwards Lifesciences Corporation, Tularik, and Warburg Dillon Read LLC. The company also said Nevinny serves on the boards of Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Neocrine Biosciences, and three un-named private companies.
