Everything But The House Opens Office In LA After $30M Funding
Everything But The House, an online marketplace for estate sale items and antiques, said Monday that it has raised $30M funding, and opened up a new office in Los Angeles. According to the company, the company's Series B funding came from Greenspring Associates, Greycroft Partners and Spark Capital. FameBit Passes 15,000 YouTubers
Santa Monica-based FameBit, the online marketplace which helps brands connect with YouTubers, said today that it has surpassed 15,000 creators on the site, and now has more than 650 million subscribers across YouTube, Snapchat, Vine, and Instagram. The startup, founded by David Kierzkowski and Agnes Kozera, has been helping brands to find YouTuber specifically creating content in their markets--and help those YouTubers make a living off their content. LA Dodgers Opens Door On First Accelerator Program
The LA Dodgers has opened the doors on its first, startup accelerator program class this morning, unveiling the 10 companies included in the first LA Dodgers Sports & Entertainment Accelerator. AeroVironment Wins $47M Army Award
Monrovia, California-based unmanned aerial aircraft maker AeroVironment has scored another big defense contract, reporting this morning that it has won $47M in contract awards from the U.S. Army. According to the drone maker, the contracts are for its RQ-11B Raven and RQ-20A Puma AE, which are used for providing situational awareness to soldiers. The awards goes toward sustainment of the unmanned aircraft, which are used for low altitude surveillance and reconnaissance.

SuperMetalix Names Research Head
Los Angeles-based SuperMetalix, a UCLA technology spinout developer super-hard metals, said today that it has named Dr. Kesh Keshavan as the company's Director of Development, to head up the company's research and development efforts. Keshavan was mot recently Technology Advisor for Schlumberger's Drilling Group, and also served at SII Mega Diamond. ViaSat Certifies Crypto Chip With NSA
Carlsbad-based satellite networking technology developer ViaSat reported this morning that it has certified the company's security, systems-on-a-chip technology with the National Security Agency (NSA). According to ViaSat, its KOV-55 Security-System-on-a-Chip has been certified to to secure voice and data up to the Top Secret level for Multifunctional Information Distribution System Low-Volume Terminals (MIDS LVT) operating over a Link 16 network. SolarReserve Gets Approval For 260MW Chilean Energy Plant
Los Angeles-based utility-scale solar power developer SolarReserve said last week that it has received environmental approval for a huge, 260MW solar energy plant in Chile. According to SolarReserve, the Chilean government approved the Copiapo Solar Project, whichi s epxected to go into commercial operation in 2019. OncoSec Names Legal Chief
San Diego-based cancer immunotherapy developer OncoSec Medical announced this morning that it has named Sheela Mohan-Peterson, JD, MS, as its Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. Mohan-Peterson was previously the company's General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, having joined the company in September of 2014. She has previously served at Merck & Co., Schering-Plough Biopharma, DNAX Research Institute, Incyte Genomics, and Roche Bioscience.
