    Nexsan Confirms Evertrust Acquisition

Woodland Hills-based Nexsan yesterday confirmed that it is acquiring Information Lifecycle Management company AESign Evertrust in a cash and stock deal. Terms were not disclosed. Nexsan, a provider of serial ATA (SATA) storage systems, said that it is acquiring the content-addressed-storage (CAS) software provider into system level products utilizing Nexsan SATA storage. Nexsan said that the combination of the software with its storage will allow it to offer low-priced disk storage and an integrated system. The compliance and regulatory market has been driving interest in fixed content-addressable-storage systems, specialized for storing content such as receipts, financial statements, and other non-changing content. The acquisition puts Nexsan head to head with disk storage giant EMC, which markets a line of CAS products under the Centera brand name.
