Rocket Lab Plans New Site In Virginia

Long Beach-based space launch provider Rocket Lab announced this week that it has selected Wallops Island, Virginia, as the location of its first launch site for its reusable Neutron rocket. According to the company, it will set up operations adjacent to and within the NASA Wallops Flight Facility and Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport, where it will both launch and manufacture its rockets. The company aid the new facility is expected to create as many as 250 jobs in Virginia. Wallops Island is a popular launch location for rockets. According to Rocket Lab, it will build the estimated 250,000 square foot complex on a 28-acre site near Wallops Island.
