Semitrex Aims At Power Efficiency

A new, Laguna Beach-based startup, Semitrex, said today that it has launched a new set of systems-on-a-chip aimed at helping to improve the power efficiency of circuits. According to the startup, it has launched a new family of chips which dramatically improve the efficiency of power spplies. The company says it has consolidated over 14 different parts which are needed for power supplies, and incorporated them into a single systems-on-a-chip, which it says provides 90 percent efficiency. The startup is led by Michael H. Freeman, who has previously developed products in the 802.11n mobile video area, and the executive team also includes COO Jay Cormier, who previously was at Teridian.
