SMC Announces New Low Cost Broadband Router

Irvine-based SMC announced this week that it will begin shipping a new broadband cable and DSL router in April. The new SMC Barricade Cable/DSL Broadband Router provides a 4-port switch, print server, and firewall and is priced at $69.99. The new low cost router is targeted at home and small office networks, and allows for the connection of printers directly via USB or parallel port to the router. The router also supports Virtual Private Network (VPN) passthrough, a built-in DHCP server, and can support up to 253 PCs using NAT.
