Tranphorm Raises $25M

Goleta-based Transphorm, the developer of high efficiency power conversion devices for the grid and power conversion market, has just raised $25M as part of an ongoing, $30M fundraising effort, according to a regulatory filing by the firm this week. The company is venture backed by Google, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, Foundation Capital, and Lux Capital. Transphorm is headed by Professor Umesh Mishra, from the University of California, Santa Barbara Electrical & Computer Engineering Department Engineering and Sciences.
